Bass Lake Christian Retirement Community

A Vibrant 55+ RV Community in East Texas

FAQ

BLCRC is a special community. Here are some common questions:

Do I own my home? You own the structure (your home and improvements), but not the land beneath it. The land is owned collectively by the community.

What exactly is a Membership Certificate? It’s what gives you the right to live in a specific home and enjoy all the shared amenities of BLCRC.

What are the monthly or annual costs? Members pay annual dues that cover shared expenses like water, trash, infrastructure, and community maintenance. The amount is set each year by member vote.

Are there additional fees? Occasionally, special projects may require an extra assessment, but the goal is always to minimize those through careful planning.

Can I rent out my home if I’m away? No—renting or leasing is not permitted. This helps maintain stability and a strong sense of community.

Can I make changes to my home? Yes! We just ask that any construction or major changes be approved ahead of time to ensure they fit within community guidelines.

Who makes the rules? The members do. Bylaws and policies are created and approved by the community, and the Board helps carry them out.

Can the rules ever change? Yes. Any member can propose changes, which are then considered and voted on at the Annual Meeting.

Is BLCRC only for retired people? It’s designed for those 55 and older (with a small exception for spouses), creating a quieter, more relaxed environment.
